My daughter has two adorable birds, Mushroom and Sunny. She loves them! They are cockatiels with strong personalities and they like to make trouble. When my daughter is at school - they live with her in her dorm. However, when my daughter lives with me during her school vacation, I have to put up with her birds. Thankfully the birds do sleep well at night, especially when their cage is covered. However, once the cover comes off - they start squeaking and squawking very loudly. They are used to being out of their cage a lot, so they always want to be out so they can walk around the apartment and eat my cat’s food. Sunny can fly and sometimes starts flying around the room. When she does that, Mushroom gets even more loud because he can’t fly and doesn’t like when Sunny flies. When they walk around together, they give me a side-eye and go exactly where they’re not supposed to go. They try to get into the cat’s litterbox, into the cat’s food, into the closet. It’s as if they know that I get mad when they do it and that’s why they want to do it. When I move them from these places, they make angry sounds at me. They remind me of two-year olds. They also poop on the floor. A lot. I have to mop the floors after they’re out. While my daughter went on trips to California and Michigan, I was the one who had to take care of the birds, clean their cage, and cook them special bird food. Mushroom sings three different songs while Sunny likes to have her neck scratched. They are pretty birds with pointy crests on their heads and orange spots on their cheeks. They’re cute and fun. However, I’m looking forward to them moving back to the dorm in two weeks. I’m tired of the noise and the mess, but I always put up with them to make my daughter happy.
