Week 4 - Wednesday

Hello,

Today we learned about the Museum of Us project launched by Trellus. For the next seven weeks, you will get to use different tools and artistic styles in order to create your work of art. This will be your opportunity to tell us about something that is important to you or something that you want to be remembered for.

In our first lesson about the project, we learned about different types of museums and what we can find in these museums. We also created our first "exhibit"! I especially enjoyed your suggestions for possible exhibit items that can be displayed in different museums. Attached is a photo of you making the exhibit.

For homework, complete pp. 8-9 in your white workbook and get ready to tell the story you wrote for homework yesterday. I have attached the answers to the past-tense crossword puzzle for those of you who were not in class on Tuesday last week.

Hello,

The topic of our Tuesday lesson was adjectives and adverbs. We practiced adverb formation, spelling, and adjective/adverb usage. We learned some new words and played grammar/vocabulary games. We also saw a funny clip that exemplifies the meaning of one of the words we studied (link in Google Classroom).

Your homework is to use the words in the past-tense crossword puzzle to create a story. We'll read the stories in class tomorrow.

Hello,

Today we started with a game to practice question formation.

Next, we talked about aptitudes and multiple intelligences. You learned new vocabulary and practiced it.

We also did several activities to ease our way into the topic of parts of speech. I hope you enjoyed the musical activity at the end of class 😊.

For homework: (1) complete pp. 6-7 of the white workbook, (2) study the parts-of-speech handout you received today (attached in Google Classroom), and (3) complete the song handout (also in Google Classroom) if you haven't completed it in class.

Today we began our work on the Present Perfect tense. We looked at the three main uses of the tense and practiced.

We also played a game that helped us reinforce what we learned.

In Google Classroom, you can find attached (1) a PDF of my presentation, (2) the answers to the game, and (3) a cheat sheet with the main uses of the Past Simple and the Present Perfect tenses. Please review the PDFs before you do your homework.

For homework: Please complete the individual documents that I have created for you in Google Classroom.

Today we played a team game to practice the difference between the Past Simple and the Past Continuous. You guys are getting so good at this!

After that, we completed a grammar crossword puzzle and discussed additional uses of the Past Simple.

Your homework is to complete the document I've posted in Google Classroom.

Hello,

Today we started class with a fun game to practice Past Simple. Both teams did great, but team B was extra lucky and won a lot of points! If I ever decide to buy a lottery ticket, I'll have you pick it for me, guys 😊.

Next, we continued with a collaborative writing activity, read a text, and discussed the usage of the Past Simple and Past Continuous tenses in it.

We finished class with a conversation about a time you were in bad weather: you described the weather to a partner, told them what you were doing right before the bad weather started, and what you did while the bad weather was happening.

There is no homework for tomorrow.

Hello!

Today we reviewed the Past Simple tense and played a variety of games to practice using it. Kudos to the winners!

We'll continue the review activities on Monday.

We also discussed different weather phenomena and made sentences with the vocabulary we worked on yesterday. You can find a PDF of my presentation slides in Google Classroom.

Hello,

Today was our first day in the new building! Thank you for joining me there and I hope you are starting to love it as much as I do.

We started class with a fun conversation activity. I am sure you learned about some world holiday traditions while practicing your speaking skills. We also began our verb tense review and started learning how to talk about the weather. We'll continue our practice tomorrow.
